Evenhousing., offers two different types of rental: short-term, anything from one day through to six months, and the more usual twelve-month contract. We do, where possible, also negotiate longer lets of up to three years. The longer the term of your rental agreement, the greater the feeling of security and stability and the higher the likelihood of ensuring your rental payments are fixed as your landlord will be free from potential void periods between shorter tenancies.

"For one reason or another, you have decided you want to rent a new home. That's the easy part"

Before you even start looking, make a list of what's important to you. Consider whether you want a house or flat in the City of Lagos here and the neighborhoods that may appeal to you.

Of course, you'll sometimes have to trade off one good thing against another, so you should priorities your wish list into "essential" and "nice to have", to make these decisions easier.

You may also need to consider the things you cannot live with i.e. stairs, carpets or single bedroom.

Remember, the more you know about what you want and don't want, the easier your search will be in finding your dream home!

Let's start by choosing an area to live If you a familiar with Lagos this is an easy decision, however if this is your first visit this can be a daunting task and you will have to ask yourself a few questions...

  • Do you want to live near your work?
  • Do you need to be near a school, Gym etc?
  • Spend some time during evenings and weekends to walk around and get a feel for the areas you're considering.

We have properties for rent throughout the City of Lagos so it can be helpful to make a list of areas or even streets that you'd consider to narrow down your search.

If you are still unsure about where you want to live, we have put together area guides giving you a flavor of what each area is like to live.
